The Minister of Trade and Industry Eng / Rashid Mohamed Rashid, it was decided to establish a number of small organic fertilizer factories in Upper Egypt governorates to meet the needs of agricultural expansion in the next phase and the implementation of the assignment of President Hosni Mubarak in his election platform. 

The engineer / Rasheed has opened two new in Abu Qir Fertilizers Company in Alexandria, the first to produce fertilizers and other liquid fertilizer mixed with a production capacity of five hundred  "500" tons yearly cost of investment amounted to 39.5 million pounds.

And Eng / Rasheed strategy that the ministry aims to provide fertilizers to meet the needs of agricultural expansion and promotion of production and exploitation of mineral wealth to increase added value in the local manufacturing rather than export. 

He pointed out that the target is to provide fertilizer and the elimination of existing bottlenecks and to eliminate speculation in the prices of fertilizers in the market and provide congenial atmosphere to contribute to the development of fertilizer industry, which would be reflected positively on the agricultural and industrial sectors

The engineer / Rasheed nitrogenous fertilizer sector has achieved a considerable surplus in production volume reached 15 million tons annually while consumption did not exceed nine million tons, stressing the importance of providing employment and training of good management of any project to boost the competitiveness of Egyptian products to world markets
